Perfection - A word long lost in today's busy world!
Multi-tasking, smart working and tech-savvy find a place in the expected traits of a candidate seeking employment. A 6o% cut-off mark is more than enough. While giving a serious thought over this, I was reminded by my co-sister's thoughts some time ago. The width of knowledge for the present generation has definitely widened; however, the depth of the subjects has very much diminished. How true. We all are jacks of all trades and masters of none.
Swetha can write a poem but cant be sure of its grammatical correctness; Veer can solve complex sudoku puzzles but needs a paper and pen to calculate 25 multiplied by 45.
We talk of out-of-the-box thinking even without understanding the four lines that make a square. The present generation is surely well equiped with multiple resources and technologies and think creatively. But we make blunders as we forget the fundamentals. This is particularly true among students pursuing masters education such as management and research studies. Its called the 'chalega' attitude. Result - joblessness or underpaid assignments.
Its high time we start realizing the need to know one's basics by heart before thinking beyond the boundaries.
